Skybound Trampoline Options

Skybound manufacture a range of trampoline sizes, shapes and models, giving plenty of choice to their customers. So, which one would suit you and your family? Read on for our detailed rundown of each type.

Skybound Stratos 15 ft trampoline

This trampoline is a traditional round shape and comes with an integrated safety enclosure. However, bear in mind that a 15ft trampoline will take up a lot of space in your yard. Many people purchase large trampolines only to discover that they look far bigger in their yard than they had imagined. Therefore, measure up carefully before you opt for a trampoline of this size. If you decide you would prefer something smaller, this model also comes in 14ft and 12ft sizes as well. So, is this trampoline a good choice for you? Read on for the key features:

  • Sturdy frame: The frame is made from strong and sturdy galvanised steel. Also, the frame has been powder coated to guard against rusting. Therefore, this trampoline should withstand years of vigorous bouncing.
  • Safety enclosure net: This is an important safety feature as it prevents anyone from bouncing off the trampoline and injuring themselves. Also, it attaches directly to the jumping surface which prevents access to the springs. As falling down the gap where the springs are located can cause nasty injuries, this is a big positive. The net is specially treated to be UV resistant, which prevents it from perishing in strong sunlight.
  • W-shaped legs: This model uses 6 W-shaped legs. This number and shape of legs is ideal as it prevents the trampoline from shifting position while you bounce. As this can be dangerous, this is a good safety feature that makes the trampoline more stable.
  • Rust-resistant springs: This trampoline uses 8.5 inch zinc-plated springs which are highly durable and resistant to rust. Therefore, the springs should not require frequent replacement.

SkyBound Cirrus 14 ft Trampoline

This is another round trampoline option from the Skybound brand. It's also a little cheaper than the above option at the same size. Read on to find out if this is the right trampoline for your family.

  • Heavy duty safety enclosure: The safety enclosure prevents any nasty trips or falls from the trampoline that could result in injury to the user. Also, it is designed to withstand a lot of impact, so it will provide protection even if you bounce heavily against it. The enclosure entrance is secured using zips. We prefer this type of fastening because it prevents you from falling out even if you land against it.
  • W-shaped legs: These leg shapes make the trampoline more stable during use. It prevents the trampoline from moving position while you're bouncing on it, which could present a hazard. Therefore, these legs increase the safety of the trampoline.
  • Rust-resistant springs: This trampoline uses springs that are coated with zinc to make them resistant to rust. Therefore, they are more durable than many other trampoline springs and should last for a long time.

SkyBound Atmos 8 ft Trampoline

This trampoline is a much smaller model that is ideally suited for younger children. Therefore, it is a good option if you're limited for space but still want your kids to benefit from the fun of jumping on a trampoline. Read on for the key features of this product.

  • Steel frame: This type of frame is more resistant to rust. Also, it is more durable. Therefore, the frame should be able to withstand plenty of enthusiastic bouncing.
  • Integrated safety net: The safety net prevents potentially dangerous falls from the trampoline. Also, it has a zip fastening. This type of entry fastening is very safe as it prevents your kids from falling out the entrance of the trampoline. Furthermore, the net is UV resistant. Therefore, it shouldn't perish even in strong sunlight.
  • PVC pad: This trampoline has a thick PVC pad covering the edge of the frame and the springs. This prevents access to the springs, which could cause injury if your kids get stuck in them. Also, it prevents bumps and bruises from falling against the frame of the trampoline.
  • 8 welded legs: Unlike the larger models, this uses single legs. For a trampoline of this size, this is a better solution as it makes the trampoline stable even if the ground is quite uneven.

That's because the shape creates to distinct jumping zones, so two bouncers are less likely to bump into each other. Skybound's Orion Oval trampolines come in two sizes, 10 x 14ft and 11 x 16ft. Let's take a look at the key features of these trampolines in more detail.

  • Safety enclosure net: These trampolines come with an integrated safety net to prevent injuries caused by falling from the trampoline. Overall, Skybound trampolines are high quality. They have a study construction that makes them a durable and long-lasting product. The springs in particular are heavy duty and rust resistant. As springs are notoriously difficult to replace, this is an important feature. They also boast a host of safety features. User and expert reviews are generally very positive, and most user reviews are 5 star. Where there are negative comments, these are usually relating to the durability of the nets.

Skybound Cirrus vs Stratos

The Stratos and Cirrus models are pretty comparable in terms of features. However, the Skybound Stratos has a greater number of enclosure poles which make the enclosure net more stable. This is reflected in the higher price of the Stratos model. The Stratos trampoline also comes in 3 sizes of 12ft, 14ft and 15ft, as opposed to the Cirrus which comes in 14ft only. The Stratos trampoline also has a significantly higher weight limit at 330lbs than the Cirrus, which can accommodate 220lbs.

How is Skybound trampoline assembly?

Skybound describe their trampoline assembly as 'lighting fast'. They say this is because the trampolines simply push together as there are no bolts or screws. Furthermore, this should allow for a quicker breakdown if you wish to take your trampoline apart.

How-is-Skybound-trampoline-assembly

Most user reviews agree that the trampoline is very easy to assemble and say that it can be done in under 2 hours with a helper. Some buyers even claim to have put their trampolines together in less than an hour. In the rare cases where customers have cited issues with assembly, it is in relation to attaching the safety net enclosure. However, it seems that assembling Skybound trampolines is easier than many other brands on the market. Like with any trampoline, it's a good idea to get a spring assembly tool to make attaching the springs quicker and safer.

How does Skybound compare to other brands?

Before you commit to purchasing a Skybound trampoline, it's important to know how they compare to the other leading brands on the market. Therefore, we've compared Skybound trampolines to other popular trampoline makers so you can see how they compare. This will help you to make the best possible decision for you and your family.

Skybound vs Acon

Acon are another highly popular brand that sell trampolines in the USA. Acon trampolines are very similar to the Skybound models, as they also have excellent zip-fasten safety enclosures, galvanised steel frames and high weight limits. However, the Skybound trampolines are a little cheaper than their Acon counterparts. Skybound offer an oval shape which cannot be purchased from Acon. However, unlike Skybound, Acon also offer a rectangular trampoline shape.

Skybound vs Skywalker trampoline

Skywalker trampolines are significantly cheaper than Skybound trampolines and offer many of the same features such as a sturdy enclosure net and galvanised steel frame. Both also have excellent user and expert reviews. However, Skywalker trampolines do not have the zip fastening that you get with a Skybound trampoline. The warranty on Skybound frames is also much longer at 10 years as opposed to the 3 year warranty offered by Skywalker. Skywalker also do not offer the same wide range of products offered by Skybound.

Skybound vs Springfree

Springfree come with a much heftier price tag than Skybound trampolines. As both brands provide excellent safety, Skybound are a good alternative if you can't stretch to the cost of a Springfree trampoline. However, Springfree do not offer a kids' model like Skybound. On the other hand, Springfree offer a variety of accessories such as basketball hoops that are not currently offered by Skybound.

Skybound replacement parts

When we looked, we found replacement jumping mats and springs on Amazon for Skybound trampolines. You can also purchase an anchor kit if you are worried about your trampoline shifting position during use.

What we like (pros)

  • We especially like the safety enclosures on Skybound trampolines. They are heavy duty and include a zip fastening. This is superior to other methods of securing the trampoline entrance and works to ensure that you can't fall out following an overenthusiastic bounce.
  • Also, it's great that the safety enclosures are attached to the jumping mat. This means that you don't have access to the springs, preventing limbs getting stuck in the gap. As this can be dangerous, this is a great sign that Skybound take the safety of their users seriously. Please note that the oval trampoline does not include this feature. Instead, there is a safety skirt to cover the springs.
  • Finally, these trampolines are well-designed for very easy assembly. As putting up trampolines can be notoriously difficult, it's great that Skybound have address this issue in their construction.

What we don't like (cons)

  • We would like to see a wider range of accessories available for Skybound trampolines such as basketball hoops or sun shades. It would also be an improvement if they attached the safety net of the Orion oval trampoline to the jumping mat. This would make it comparable in terms of safety to their other trampolines.
